All College Students Should Have Dorm Refrigerators

It's a great idea for college students or their parents to research dorm refrigerators in advance so that they can purchase the best model at the best price available. We all know how much college students like to eat, it's a great idea for a student to have access to a mini refrigerator for dorm eating.

The first thing that should be considered is the amount of living space the college student will have. Some dorm rooms are pretty small and may have to be shared by two or more students. A dorm sized refrigerator can be shared by two students at the most. The great thing about mini refrigerators is that they can hold important items such as sodas or drinks, frozen microwave meals or milk. A mini fridge allows students to spend more time in their rooms instead of going out so much to obtain food.

A fridge can be reasonable purchased at appliance stores or many other stores where small appliances are sold. There are dorm refrigerators that have a section for frozen items, but not all of them do. If the student also has a microwave or access to a microwave a compact fridge with a freezer may be a smart choice.

College tuition can be expensive. It is important to also plan to purchase other items that can make the college years easier. Dorm refrigerators can be easily transported to college if a student is going away from home. They can also be purchased in the city where the student is attending school if desired. Prices may range between one hundred to two hundred dollars. They are very visible during times when stores have back to school sales. They may go on sale afterwards if there are left over stock.

Most dorm refrigerators can be used to store: milk, fruit, sandwich meat, cheese, yogurt, lettuce, tomatoes, small frozen meals, and small frozen pizzas. Having access to food that can be cooked in a dorm can keep food costs down compared to eating out. So even though purchasing one is an extra cost, it will pay for itself over time.
